Craig and his team did a very professional installation of an air source heat pump. In advance of the installation communication was very good and on the day of the installation everything was done as planned. When you’re making a decision about something as fundamental as switching from a gas boiler to a heat pump, you need confidence in the people arranging it for you. I appreciated Craig’s much more personal service than the second company that I had give me a quote; he was honest from the start about how a heat pump was only suitable for certain houses; he ensured that we were properly surveyed by an independent surveyor, who measured each room thoroughly before suggesting a heat pump would be appropriate, and that I would need new radiators to make up for the lower temperatures they provide- something that a lot of people complain about when they have them installed without this advice.
The process took around two days; Craig talked me through the process at every step, and at the end of it I had an 8000kw Mitsubishi heat pump installed neatly on the side of the house, connected to a brand new hot water tank. Over the course of last winter I found the heat pump was able to provide hot water consistently and efficiently.
Over the course of the year my gas bill has gone to almost nothing as we now have all hot water covered by the heat pump; the efficiency of the heat pump coupled with our solar panels means that we are essentially making money back during sunny days. One full tank of water costs roughly 30p/day.
