Solar Photovoltaic panels or ‘Solar PV’ for
short, are made up of photovoltaic cells that convert energy from the sun into
electricity. The cells within the panels become energised when light shines on
them, creating an electrical flow which is then used by the property in the
same way you use energy from the grid.
Though Solar PV will work best on a sunny day,
the panels react to visible light rather than direct sunlight, meaning even on
a cloudy day the system will still generate power for your home.
